25 April 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution in Portugal. To commemorate this event, which marks the dawn of the Portugal´s democratic future, the Horta Museum at Casa Manuel de Arriaga is showing the exhibition "Mar de Cravos -  Uma história de Abril no Faial". I am honoured to be able to present my work "O homens  e o mar" at this exhibition. The exhibition can be visited until 31 December 2024.

A visão artística da ilha do Faial ocupa uma parte significativa da pintura de Gieshoff. A série de obras "Capelinhos" capta de forma viva a força irreprimível da natureza. No entanto, o espetador é também recordado da vulnerabilidade e da transitoriedade do seu ambiente.

The artistic view of the island of Faial takes up a significant part of Gieshoff's painting. The "Capelinhos" series of works vividly captures the irrepressible power of nature. However, the viewer is also reminded of the vulnerability and transience of his environment.
